Nani Iro - Clear Heart Canvas
Naomi Ito of Nani Iro is one of my favourite designers. Everything looks hand painted so any garment made out of this fabric looks like a complete original. This fabric especially has movement and life in the broad brush strokes and I love as much in the bold and intense yellow as I do in the soft and opalescent cloudlike blue.
A note about this canvas from Kokka, "This tightly woven and durable plain weave is noticeably heavier and more textured than standard quilting cotton. Even so, this "canvas" has been popular for a wide variety of projects, including: quilts and wall hangings, blouses, dresses, handbags, decorative kitchen towels, pillow covers, cosmetic pouches, and duvet covers."
Spark - I think this would make stunning and durable occasional pillows but I love the idea of a little stiffness to execute this Pauline Alice dress. It would look very artful and modern with the scale of this fabric.
