Violet Craft Highlands - The Geometry of Bees - Honey

Violet Craft is a "second career" designer (I love hearing these stories). She started out in Accounting but after starting her family rediscovered her passion for making. She has become well known for her patterns including the stunning and much Pinterested Lion Quilt, and her fabric designs for Michael Miller have also blossomed. 

Highlands is a little bit about cats. I have seen a lot of cat fabrics this year, some of them quite extreme, but this collection was one of the best. Great design balance between theme and graphic impression, colour and density. On the residential print there are wee cat foot prints, on the two blenders there is nothing obviously cat but they're really pretty and then there are the faces - okay a little cat love there and so well done. I love the lightness of them all. 

Spark - I immediately saw bags and linings (pockets, handles, etc.). I also love those little cat faces for pj's.
