In the Ruffle workshop, you'll  learn how to sew gathered ruffles for garments and home décor. You’ll create a small sample as you explore the technique.

  • How fabric weight affects your gathers

  • How to calculate and apply the gather ratio

  • How to sew a gather stitch and secure it for even distribution

  • Techniques for sewing gathers around corners

  • Troubleshooting tips for smooth, professional-looking gathers

Who should take this class - Confident beginners and more experienced sewists who want to learn some new techniques. 

Timing -  please choose your date.

Please plan to bring - You will get a detailed email a couple of weeks before the class but please be prepared to bring your sewing kit (including pins, scissors, measuring tape) and 

  • Muslin – 0.5 meters

  • Polyester thread


NOTE - we are capping the class at 6 participants. If we have less than 3 participants, we will cancel the class and refund your full purchase price. Otherwise, workshops are non-refundable. If you cancel with at least a week's notice, we will give you a store credit. If you find you can't make it, with less than one week's notice, you are welcome to send someone in your place.
