Nani Iro - Clear Heart Double Gauze Utau - Clearest Blue
Naomi Ito of Nani Iro is one of my favourite designers. Everything looks hand painted so any garment made out of this fabric looks like a complete original. This fabric especially has movement and life in the broad brush strokes and I love as much in the bold and intense yellow as I do in the soft and opalescent cloudlike blue.
A note about Double Gauze from the Kokka, the manufacturer. "Double gauze is two-ply gauze, held together by one layer picking up thread from the other layer every centimeter or so. This lightweight material has a soft hand and is extremely breathable, making it a popular Japanese ingredient to beat the heat and humidity. Double gauze is easy to work with and quite versatile. Popular projects include: Loose fitting garments (blouses, dresses, and lounge pants), scarves, baby blankets, quilting projects, bedding projects, and classy curtains."
Spark - While I like the idea of "classy curtains", I'm making dresses. It's hard to decide on a pattern but I love the Date Night Dress or the new Eliana Dress from Pauline Alice
