Motif Mati Handwoven "Splash" - Red stripe

We are so excited to introduce a new line of fabrics at Fabric Spark, introducing Motif. This company is a source of ethically hand-made textiles in Bangladesh. The fibre content is either recycled or from natural sources and the wovens are all hand loomed by local artisans. Mati in Bangla means Earth or Soil, the source of every eco-friendly fibre in this range of regional weaves and traditional needle skills. 

Note - because this is hand woven, there will be the odd irregularity (kind of like my garment sewing) If you need perfection, you may want mechanically milled yardage. 

"Splash" Is made up of recycled yarns leftover from other handwoven fabrics that are threaded into new warps, creating flashes of colour against natural, undyed cotton.

Spark - This is a beautiful fabric for a throw pillow (pictured) or a super cute pair of new pants!

Please note that all fabric is sold in 1/2 yard increments. If you want 1 yard, please order a quantity of 2. If you want 2 yards, you will need to order a quantity of 4.

For example

Width - : 45″ / 114cm    Shrinkage 5% approx.

Content -  100% cotton including recycled fibres.

Weight -  5oz / 170gsm approx. Medium weight.

Care - Hand wash or gentle cycle. Air dry and iron whilst damp. For a more textured appearance tumble dry on low heat.
