Motif Mati Handwoven Cotton - Red

We are so excited to introduce a new line of fabrics at Fabric Spark, introducing Motif. This company is a source of ethically hand-made textiles in Bangladesh. The fibre content is either recycled or from natural sources and the wovens are all hand loomed by local artisans. Mati in Bangla means Earth or Soil, the source of every eco-friendly fibre in this range of regional weaves and traditional needle skills. 

Note - because this is hand woven, there will be the odd irregularity (kind of like my garment sewing) If you need perfection, you may want mechanically milled yardage. 

Spark - A beautifully iridescent texture appears as this dynamic fabric moves with you. It's a lovely lighter weight, so think tops, dresses, more fabric volume in your patterns.

Please note that all fabric is sold in 1/2 yard increments. If you want 1 yard, please order a quantity of 2. If you want 2 yards, you will need to order a quantity of 4.

Content -  100% cotton

Weight -  3.8oz / 130gsm approx. Lightweight.

Care - Dry clean to retain finish. Cool gentle cycle / hand wash and iron while damp or cool machine / air dry for a more casual look.
