Holiday Tree Skirt Workshop - Saturday November 28 12:00 - 3:00
In this workshop, students will learn to make 2-3 panels of the Brightest Star Tree Skirt pattern by Megan Collins. The class is based on the scrappy version (Option 1), however you may choose to make the pattern cover version (Option 2) if you'd like.
Students will learn how to use paper templates, sew curved sections into triangular panels, and how to sew triangular panels together. There will be a demonstration on how to prepare, cut, and sew the bias binding required to finish the tree skirt. Students should not expect to complete the tree skirt top in class; this class is an opportunity to sew curves and learn how to prepare bias binding.
Difficulty - Confident beginners
Teacher: Jane Cramer
Supplies Provided: In this workshop we provide a digital copy of the Brightest Star pattern, the required templates, and a supplemental print-out.
Need to bring: You'll get a detailed email a couple of weeks before the workshop letting you know what to bring but you can anticipate that you will need to bring your fabric, thread, and a basic sewing kit (scissors, pins, marking pencil, etc.). We also encourage you to come to the shop ahead of your class to pick out your fabric and thread so that you're ready to go when the class starts.
If you do not have the sewing tools, we have sewing kits you can borrow, or you can purchase most of them in the store.
Note - We are capping the class at 6 participants. If we have less than 3 participants, we will cancel the class and refund your full purchase price. Otherwise, workshops are non-refundable. If you cancel with at least a week's notice, we will give you a store credit. If you find you can't make it, with less than one week's notice, you are welcome to send someone in your place.
