Garden of Earthly Delights - Fresco Blue
The first collection by Studio KM for Free Spirit Fabrics, this fabric is as bright, and vibrant as it looks in the image. "The Garden of Earthly Delights” is a painting by Hieronymus Bosh, an Early Netherlandish painter, that sits in the Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain. Studio KM draws upon the beautiful colors in the painting as one of the collection’s influences. They also said that the Baroque music playing in the studio was another influence.
We chose from among the brightest of the prints because in a collection like this, there is no point going partway. I love how emersive it is. To me it feels like a cross between a beautiful traditional botanical print, in all of it's hand drawn detail, and a pop art poster.
Spark - Dare to stand out in a top or dress made from these lovely prints, or use them for a bright hit of colour with neutrals or quieter background fabrics. I am toying with the idea of some toss pillows for my bed. It would be fun to wake up to.
Please note that all fabric is sold in 1/2 yard increments. If you want 1 yard, please order a quantity of 2. If you want 2 yards, you will need to order a quantity of 4.
