Esch House Quilts - Traffic Pattern
Esch House is the home of Debbie Grifka, an invented and talented quilter in Michigan who has sewn all her life and started quilting about 10 years ago. I like her patterns because she always adds an interesting little twist to what she's doing.
This flighty example is deceptively simple. And, despite it's appearance, it's all based on blocks of 1, 2 or 3 birds.
Fabric requirements are outlined in the attached image based on the following sizes.
Traffic Pattern includes 4 sizes:
80″ x 90″ – full/queen – featured in Kona charcoal, canary and white
60″ x 80″ – twin
50″ x 70″ – throw
40″ x 45″ – baby – featured with Kona white and a rainbow of scraps
Spark - I have always thought that this pattern would be beautiful with a sky blue background, white and pale grey doves (with the grey representing the distant birds). Wouldn't that make a great nursery quilt?
