Emery Dress by Christine Haynes
A classic dress for the vintage fan.
The Emery is a flattering dress. There are several darts in the top creating a fitted bodice (lined) and it has a fuller skirt with two pockets and a 2 inch knee length hem. Very demure. It closes with an invisible zipper. With either short set-in sleeves or 3/4 length set-in sleeves. Optional collar. So pretty.
Christine suggests the degree of difficulty is 3 out of 5. I would suggest 3 1/2 or 4 relative to the other dress patterns at Fabric Spark, but you will end up with a lovely, and well fitted dress for your efforts.
Suggested fabrics are cotton shirting, quilt weight cotton (we're good there!), lawn, voile, swiss dot, double gauze, linen, chambray and seersucker (oh, that would be so adorable).
Fabric Requirements for 45" wide fabric are
View A - 3 1/2 to 4 3/4 yards depending on size, see the pattern back for details.
View B - 3 5/8 to 5 1/8 yards as above.
