Clamshell Quilt Workshop (including pattern and ruler) with Shirley Dawson

In this workshop, you'll learn to make the beautiful "Glam Clam Quilt" designed by Latifah Saafir. As she says, it is both classic and modern, especially depending on your fabric choices.

In the class, you'll pay particular attention to planning your quilt for fabric layout, using the Clammy ruler for cutting, mastering the curved seams and pressing for the best results. 

The class includes the pattern and an 8" clammy ruler (regular value $63.20). If you have your own Clammy, or want to use a different size, let us know.  The pattern and ruler have been discounted for students by 20%.

Our sample, made by your teacher uses the 8" clammy ruler.

Details

Difficulty - Advanced beginner, you can use a rotary cutter and acrylic ruler, maintain a 1/4" seam allowance, and do very basic quilt math.

Supply List - 

You will get a detailed email in advance of the class but you can plan on bringing some scrap fabric to play with in the class, and you're welcome to bring fabric that you want to make a quilt with, and talk to Shirley about how to lay out your choices before you start sewing.

Fabric requirements can be seen on the pattern image (backside), depending on the size of quilt you are making. 

You will need to bring your own fabric and thread. We have Pfaff Passport sewing machines for your use in the class. Please bring your own fabric, as above, and sewing kit (rotary cutter, pins or wonder clips, any tools you like to use when piecing a quilt block).

Note - we are capping the class at 6 participants. If we have less than 3 participants, we will cancel the class and refund your full purchase price. Otherwise, workshops are non-refundable. If you cancel with at least a week's notice, we will give you a store credit. If you find you can't make it, with less than one week's notice, you are welcome to send someone in your place.
