Rainbow Mash-up Quilt by Happy Sew Lucky
Berene from Happy Sew Lucky is a Grand Master of colour. I gave her that title after peaking into her studio. Rainbows are her specialty.
Her latest design project, and an excellent example of her mastery with colour, is this beautiful transparency quilt. The multi-directional arrows make use of 16 coordinated solids, on an Essex yarn-dyed linen background, finished with a perfect shot of Ex Libris Geometry Sunset from Alison Glass for the binding. It's an exercise in simplicity and detail, bright and bold, fun and contrast.
Berene's instructions are well illustrated and easy to follow. She has also provided a map and extra instructions for her geometric quilting.
The finished quilt is 63"x63"
You will get
A Happy Sew Lucky Rainbow Mash-up pattern, with excellent illustrated directions, including piecing and quilting instructions.
16 solids in sufficient quantity that you can place the colours as you wish around the arrows (although, why would you change Berene's beautiful spectrum?)
Essex yarn dyed linen/cotton blend for the background
Ex Libris Geometry Sunset for the binding
Batting and backing are not included but Berene used this to great effect. I think any of these would be lovely. You will need 4 yards for the backing.
