Holly Clarke Design and Figo Fabrics - Folk Festival Quilt Kit in "The Botanist" - PRE-ORDER

Note - this is a pre-order, we are expecting the quilt kits to ship before the end of May.

We were inspired by a mock up we saw of The Botanist by Pippa Shaw, in this beautiful quilt pattern.  (see the images left) so we're making kits. This is what Holly said about the pattern, "The folk music festival in my province is an event I look forward to every year. This quilt is my ode to the delight of setting out a quilt on the grass and listening to the sounds of inspiring music, the yummy smells of festival food, and the delight of all the colours and shapes that come with watching people in a crowd."

We were struck by this curvy modern quilt which Holly described as  "the ultimate skill builder for intermediate to advanced quilters"

The kit includes - The pattern and all of the fabric you need for the quilt top and binding, including 16 x 1/3 yard cuts from The Botanist, 2 1/4 yards background from Art Gallery (Bargello Panna, pictured next to last) and 5/8 yard binding fabric (Serenity stripe in blue, pictured last). You will need to add your own backing and batting.

The pattern includes paper templates, easy-to-follow illustrated instructions for planning, cutting, sewing, and finishing. Some knowledge of working with templates and sewing curves would be helpful, but is not required.

The finished quilt is the 70" x 70" (the large throw size on the pattern) and includes 16 blocks as illustrated in the main image.
