Quilt Block Basics Workshop
In this 4 hour workshop you will learn the basics of creating consistent and accurate half square triangles and flying geese (valuable building blocks for creating quilts). You'll learn different construction techniques, cutting methods, how to maintain a consistent 1/4" seam allowance, pressing techniques and then how to piece your blocks together.
Details
Difficulty - Great for beginner or early quilters looking to improve their techniques and create good quilt piecing habits. Students should have good familiarity with the operation of a sewing machine.
Teacher - Jane Cramer
Supply List - You do not have to bring your own sewing machine to this class. We have sewing machines available for your use.
We will send a detailed reminder at least a week before the workshop, but you should plan on bringing
- three fat quarters, ( dark, medium and light)
- your sewing kit with scissors or snips, pins, measuring tape, 12" ruler, notepad and pen
We encourage you to bring a rotary cutter and acrylic ruler. If you don't have these tools, we have kits available to borrow for the duration of the class.
Note - we are capping the class at 6 participants. If we have less than 3 participants, we will cancel the class and refund your full purchase price. Otherwise, workshops are non-refundable. If you cancel with at least a week's notice, we will give you a store credit. If you find you can't make it, with less than one week's notice, you are welcome to send someone in your place.
