Learn to make a cotton t-shirt. You'll learn how to sew with knits but you'll also learn how to master an incredibly useful wardrobe staple. You'll be adding new colours of tees to your closet in no time. You'll learn to

  • layout a pattern on knit fabric
  • check and choose pattern size
  • cut out a stretch fabric
  • sew stretch fabrics
  • use a double needle
  • hem and finish with knits

Students must be at least 14 years old.

Difficulty: You know how to thread a sewing machine, and adjust tension

Pre-Requisites: You have taken Sewing School Workshops in the 200 level or have made woven garments. You don't need to have experience with stretch fabrics or knits. That's what this class is for.

Supplies Provided:

The pattern is included in this workshop. You will be making the Closet Core Knit Tee.

Need to bring:

You will need to bring your own fabric, thread and sewing kit. You will be sent a detailed list of supplies to bring to the class a few weeks ahead of your workshop. Note - if possible, please pre-wash the cotton knit/jersey in advance of the class. 

Cancellations and Refunds

We are capping the class at 6 participants. If we have less than 3
participants, we will cancel the class and refund your full purchase
price. Otherwise, workshops are non-refundable. If you cancel with at
least a week's notice, we will give you a store credit. If you find you
can't make it, with less than one week's notice, you are welcome to send
someone in your place.
