Artful Darning and Mending - Saturday November 11 1:00 - 4:00

In this 3 hour workshop you'll learn how to darn knits and woven fabrics, including mending holes, covering stains, reinforcing clothes for a longer life, or embellishing something you love. You'll learn both visible and discrete (less visible) methods of darning.

Diana, our teacher, is a local contemporary textile artist and avid darner.

NOTE  - we have a limited number of darning mushrooms for sale (not included in the class). Please let us know in the notes section if you'd like us to set one aside for you.

Supply List - We will provide each student with a needle, and a card of darning yarn. (colour selection will be on a first come, first served basis - if you have a strong preference, please let us know in the notes section of your order and we will try and accommodate).

We will send a detailed reminder at least a week before the workshop, but you should plan on bringing

- some of your own clothing (or your family's clothing) that you can work on during the class. It can be something with a hole, is stained, or is wearing thin.

- your own sewing kit with small scissors or snips, your favourite needles, thimble, notepad and pen. You are also encouraged to bring any of your own fine yarns, embroidery floss, or anything else that you're hoping to work  with. 

Note - we are capping the class at 9 participants. If we have less than 3 participants, we will cancel the class and refund your full purchase price. Otherwise, workshops are non-refundable. If you cancel with at least a week's notice, we will give you a store credit. If you find you can't make it, with less than one week's notice, you are welcome to send someone in your place.
