Chambray!

When you're trying to find the perfect fabric for making a top, a dress, an interesting skirt or to experiment with, it's hard to do better than a well made, 100% cotton chambray.

The warp and weft threads are different colours and that gives chambray its excellent depth and the appearance of a slight texture

Chambray hangs beautifully but still has just enough structure to hold the shape of the garment you're making. And, it can go from warm temperatures (think sleeveless dress) to cooler temperatures (like a tunic or men's shirt).
