String Snowball - Quilt Workshop

In this workshop, you'll learn to make the String Snowball quilt block, designed by your teacher, Sandy Lindal. 

The String Snowball is a wonderful quilt that can make a big impact visually and by putting a dent in your stash. Designed by Sandy Lindal of @scrappygalquilts, it's a wonderful template based quilt that can look incredibly different depending on the theme and colour or fabric placement. These variations will be discussed in the workshop.  

As Sandy said, "You can play with values for a 3D effect or make a colourful version and modernize it with a carefully chosen background fabric. It is made on a paper foundation or with acrylic templates (available for sale too). 

Details

Difficulty - Advanced beginner, you can use a rotary cutter and acrylic ruler, maintain a 1/4" seam allowance, and do basic quilt math. You're ready to tackle curves, or you're already a pro.

You will get a detailed list of requirements in advance of the class, but you will need to bring your own fabric and thread. We have Pfaff Passport sewing machines for your use in the class. Please bring your fabric and your sewing kit (rotary cutter, pins or wonder clips, any tools you like to use when piecing a quilt block). We also have sewing kits available to borrow in case you need one.

Pattern Notes - *We have a limited number of acrylic templates for this pattern. If you're interested in purchasing a set ($32.00, NOT included in the workshop price) please let us know and we'll set them aside for you.

Note - we are capping the class at 6 participants. If we have less than 3 participants, we will cancel the class and refund your full purchase price. Otherwise, workshops are non-refundable. If you cancel with at least a week's notice, we will give you a store credit. If you find you can't make it, with less than one week's notice, you are welcome to send someone in your place.
