Quilt Block Basics Workshop - Wednesday January 25, 11:00 - 4:00 PM
In this 5 hour workshop you will learn three different ways to make both half square triangles, and flying geese blocks (valuable building blocks for creating quilts). You'll learn good techniques for cutting, maintaining a consistent 1/4" seam allowance, pressing your blocks and then piecing your blocks together.
Difficulty - Great for beginner or early quilters looking to improve their techniques and create good quilt piecing habits. Students should have good familiarity with the operation of a sewing machine.
Timing - Wednesday January 25, 11:00 - 4:00 PM
Teacher - Jane Cramer
Supply List - You do not have to bring your own sewing machine to this class. We have sewing machines available for your use.
We will send a detailed reminder at least a week before the workshop, but you should plan on bringing
- five fat quarters, (two dark and three medium toned)
- your sewing kit with scissors or snips, pins, measuring tape, 12" ruler, notepad and pen
We encourage you to bring a rotary cutter and acrylic ruler. If you don't have these tools, we have kits available to borrow for the duration of the class.
Note - we are capping the class at 6 participants. If we have less than 3 participants, we will cancel the class and refund your full purchase price. Otherwise, workshops are non-refundable. If you cancel with at least a week's notice, we will give you a store credit. If you find you can't make it, with less than one week's notice, you are welcome to send someone in your place.
