Quilt as you go is a great technique to learn because you can adapt it for anything, quilts, playmats, wall art, smaller scale projects like placemats or table runners. It's also very satisfying because your project is really finishing as you go. No wrestling with the big quilt sandwich under your machine. It's also a terrific way to use up batting scraps because you're layering, quilting and joining smaller sections all the way along.
