Darning 2.0 - Saturday April 29 - 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Have you started to darn your woolens and realized that a woven darn isn’t appropriate for all holes? In this workshop, you'll learn more darning techniques to add to your toolbox. We will cover ;

Scotch Darning - a very durable method, great for mending holes in sock heals or sweater elbows.

Tambourine darn - an effective way to cover small holes or stains on your sweaters.

Eyelets - a beautiful way to camouflage small holes and add visual interest to your knit wear - turn the imperfections into a highlighted design feature. 

Duplicate stitch - a great way to add strength to lightly worn areas.

DETAILS 

Difficulty - You've done some darning, maybe even taken the Artful Darning Class, but you want to advance your skills and add to your options.

Timing - Saturday April 29 10:00 - 1:00

Teacher - Diana Fox-Revett

Supply List - We will provide each student with a needle, and a card of darning yarn. (colour selection will be on a first come, first served basis - if you have a strong preference, please let us know in the notes section of your order and we will try and accommodate).

We will send a detailed reminder at least a week before the workshop, but you should plan on bringing the following

Basic sewing kit including small sharp scissors or snips, your favourite needles, thimble, notepad and pen
Your own selection of yarns, embroidery floss, pearl cotton, sock yarn, or anything else that you're hoping to work with.

Note - we are capping the class at 9 participants. If we have less than 3 participants, we will cancel the class and refund your full purchase price. Otherwise, workshops are non-refundable. If you cancel with at least a week's notice, we will give you a store credit. If you find you can't make it, with less than one week's notice, you are welcome to send someone in your place.
